Hello Elm!
That’s our first full week over and we have loved hearing from all of you and your updates about the successes and challenges of home learning. Remember that we all find things tricky when we are in school, so that’s going to happen with some of the concepts at home too! Don’t panic!
This week’s work includes some more Monster Pizza planning, fractions and lesson 2 of our French unit – En Classe. Our Restless Earth theme moves on to volcanoes and earthquakes and we have heard that some of you have been watching some documentaries to learn more about tectonic plates and different types of volcanic explosions!
The Andy Warhol ‘Pop Art’ topic has also engaged you and the portraits you have sent us are really good, thank you. It was interesting to see which famous people you chose to draw and we did our own research to find out who some of them were! This week is linked to Warhol’s love of cats (sorry if you’re a dog person) and there are some guides to help you to draw step by step if you wish. If you have one, you can draw your own cat but don’t expect it to pose for very long!!
We have added a couple of optional extra bits with the task pages this week – links to fractions websites, for some of you who wanted to reinforce and extend skills, and a word search of key vocabulary relating to our Restless Earth geography topic.
The picture for this week (below) is Happy Butterfly Day (also by Andy Warhol) to send you some warm and colourful vibes in this cold and dreary weather.
Keep smiling and best wishes
Miss Prentice & Mrs Cox
