We are pleased to announce our new Active Travel Ambassadors for this academic year (2022-23). We had so many applications this year from our Year 5 children, who are passionate about safe travel and the environment, that we had to pick them at random as it was too difficult to choose.
Our Travel Ambassadors are Cerys, Izaak, Emily, Thomas P and Sophie. We can't wait to see what they will come up with. They will have a meeting with Chi from Herts Road Safety to discuss some ideas.
This year (November 2021) we are delighted to have our team of Active Travel Ambassadors back (formerly the Junior Travel Ambassadors). Congratulations to Harry, Erin, Abbie and Maddy in Beech Class, for their successful applications. They are all looking forward to working on projects to improve safety around our local area to keep our school community safe. They are going to look at the issues of parking and consider a Walking Bus to encourage walking to school from the Village Hall.
The Active Travel Ambassadors are very keen to try and reduce traffic around the school.
They have relaunched the Walking Bus, starting on 21st February 2022. If your child is in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), please complete and return form below giving permission for your child to walk with the adult volunteers and the ATAs. If your child is in Key Stage 1 (Years Reception to Year 2), you are more than welcome to accompany the Walking Bus with your child.
They will meet at the Village Hall car park every morning at 8:35am and depart at 8:40am.
In September 2019 Mrs Martin spoke to Year 5 about the role of a Junior Travel Ambassador. The children had lots of ideas to contribute and were passionate about improving safety around our school and local area. Those that wished to, filled out an application form after which Chi, from the Herts Road Safety Team, came in to award the successful candidates with their JTA packs. Well done to Megan, Jack C, Connie, Rachel and Matilda.

The JTA Assembly
