The vision at St Michael’s results in a deeply aspirational school. Pupils are loved, nurtured and supported to ‘shine’ as individuals. SIAMS July 2024
Kurling is a form of the original curling game, but adapted so that it can be played indoors on any smooth, flat surface, such as a sports hall, rather than on ice. We have enjoyed this activity so much that, over the last couple of years, we have used our sports funding to buy our own kurling stones (on wheels) and targets. Kurling requires patience, teamwork, focus, accuracy and a little risk-taking!
Two Year 3 teams visited St. Mary’s school to compete in the Monk’s Walk competition and were super excited to represent St. Michael’s at Kurling. Mrs Egerton had been guiding them through some techniques in class and so they were ready to apply these skills in a number of inter school matches. Everyone did their very best and the group were happy with their efforts. Mr Williams identified Finley and Matthew as Star Performers. Well done to everyone involved!
