Basketball Tournament and District finals Nov/Dec 2021

Our basketball team - Lenny (Capt), Tabby, Benjamin, Sofia F, Edward and Zach, participated in the Welwyn and Hatfield district finals on Friday 3rd December. The quality of play was high and matches were close.  The team reached the semifinals and were beaten by Commonswood. They then played in the playoffs and won against Creswick, so they were 3rd overall.

Congratulations to our team and also to the Oaklands team who won and will be representing our area at the county finals.

On Friday 27th November our basketball team travelled to Stanborough School to compete in the Monk's Walk and Stanborough Family competition.  6 teams participated and it was a very fast paced event with the opportunity to play each school in turn.  Our first match was challenging and certainly showed the importance of quick passing or clever dribbling, as well as the need for accuracy when shooting.  We lost 6-2 to Oaklands.  St. Michael's managed to win the next 4 matches to come 2nd overall and have now qualified for the District finals at Ridgeway Academy....where they will face Oaklands once again!  Well played everyone and good luck in the next round!
