Welcome to Elm Class!
National ‘Into Film’ Cinema Visit
Elm class were fortunate to receive free tickets to the cinema as part of the nationwide promotion which encourages schools to use film as part of their curriculum delivery. The children viewed ‘The Kid Who Would Be King’.
Old school magic meets the modern world in this epic adventure. Alex thinks he's just another nobody, until he stumbles upon the mythical sword in the stone, Excalibur. Now, he must unite his friends and enemies into a band of knights and, together with the legendary wizard Merlin, take on the wicked enchantress Morgana. With the future at stake, Alex must become the great leader he never dreamed he could be.
The film was most enjoyable and covered many themes the children are discussing in school at the moment: Courage, Perseverance, Self-belief and the hero certainly overcame conflict during Anti-bullying Week. Elm pupils are currently writing myths and there were also plenty of scenes with special effects and storyline twists the children can ‘borrow’ to improve their descriptive writing!
