Our REcap on RE in Cherry Class!
This term, Cherry Class delved into the fascinating world of Judaism. They explored the rich tapestry of Jewish history, culture, and religious practices. Here are some of our favourite pieces this term!
The above materials will help you support your child with the key reasoning and knowledge that we look at in Year 2 . As ever, if we can help at all, please speak to Mr Seery.
Great Fire of London Day 2024
Today, Year 2 took part in an amazing 'Great Fire of London Day' celebrating our topic in history. The children began the day with a range of activities, like in the 1600s, including working in an apothecary, writing using their own crushed ink and creating leather bookmarks. The children enjoyed the hands-on experience of what life was like in the 1600s. In the afternoon, the children also got an opportunity to learn more about people living in the past through excavations and digging up materials to learn about who had lived in certain places. There was a lot of fun, and the children learned even more about their amazing topic.
This week's spelling focus! (Updated 16th Feb 2024)
This week, Year 2 will focus on the spelling patterns '‘ey’ saying /ee/' such as monkey and donkey. Use the resources below to help your child with their work.
We explore a spelling rule each week in our Phonics and Guided Reading lessons. Above find resources to support our learning.
Don't forget, we have a weekly reading and spelling test each week on Fridays!
