Mr B Mallon - Head Teacher

Parents who are considering a place for their child at St Michael's Woolmer Green are warmly invited to visit the school. Please telephone for an appointment and for a full copy of the prospectus.

In joining St Michael's Woolmer Green your child will be part of a community which shares Christian values where everyone works together to create a happy and secure environment. It is our aim to care for particular needs of each child to ensure that every opportunity is provided for all pupils to develop and reach their full potential.

In order to achieve this we look forward to working in partnership with you as your child progresses through the school and we encourage you to visit us to discuss your child's development.

Above all this is a caring school, with caring adults, who seek to develop positive relationships with our parents and children. Together we can ensure that your child will benefit from an exciting and enriching education at St Michael's Woolmer Green and will enjoy a happy and successful time here.

We have focussed our work on the five priorities identified by the School Improvement Plan. We are reviewing our pupil progress and attainment data form 2014-15, our plans for 2015-16 and the funding and resources to support these plans. There have been several Governor Visits into school this month focusing on a broad range of subjects from Maths, Writing, Health and Safety, Buildin...

As you will probably all know the lovely Lucy Dallas, vicar of St Michael's Church, and friend, church link and governor to the school, is moving on to a new and exciting role this week. Lucy and her family are moving to Elstree where she will be embarking on a new adventure which she is very much looking forward to. However, as with all new adventures, it also means leaving behind people and places that you love. She will be very sadly missed, but we all wish every happiness and success to her and her family in Elstree, and would like to than...

Jean Webber has finally hung up her lollipop, and will no longer be guiding our children safely across the B197 in the mornings and afternoons. She will, however, continue to play an active role in the school in other ways. We would like to thank Jean for looking after us all for so long, and wish her many happy lie-ins! The school presented her with some flowers and a fabulous cake made with love by the Holden girls. ...

We have had such a busy and richly rewarding half-term and the past seven weeks have flown by. We have recently had our Harvest Festival at St Michael's Church led by the Year 5 children. It was Lucy's farewell service and we wish her well in her new Parish of Elstree. The Year 6 children distributed parcels to the residents of Wickfield Close and were extremely well-mannered and well-behaved as always. Other highlights included our Book Fayre which raised £300 in commission, and enabled us to stock up on class books. Our "Wow" writing day fea...

Redwood had a wonderful time yesterday at Celtic Harmony. The weather held out, although it was chilly, but the children didn't complain - they absolutely loved it!  They learned all about life in Celtic times, with lots of hands on activities. They did archery, warrior war training, made rush head bands and adorned their faces with warrior paints! They even went on a woodland quest. A fantastic time was had by all. Photos to follow in the Gallery.
