Mr B Mallon - Head Teacher

Parents who are considering a place for their child at St Michael's Woolmer Green are warmly invited to visit the school. Please telephone for an appointment and for a full copy of the prospectus.

In joining St Michael's Woolmer Green your child will be part of a community which shares Christian values where everyone works together to create a happy and secure environment. It is our aim to care for particular needs of each child to ensure that every opportunity is provided for all pupils to develop and reach their full potential.

In order to achieve this we look forward to working in partnership with you as your child progresses through the school and we encourage you to visit us to discuss your child's development.

Above all this is a caring school, with caring adults, who seek to develop positive relationships with our parents and children. Together we can ensure that your child will benefit from an exciting and enriching education at St Michael's Woolmer Green and will enjoy a happy and successful time here.

As the St Michael's boys and girls indoor athletics teams both qualified for the District competition, they travelled by mini-bus to Sir Fred's school on Thursday 4th February 2016.   The teams represented Monks Walk family against seven other area teams. The children had been training hard and practicing regularly in preparation for the harder competition.   Individual results are yet to be received but notable outstanding performances were: 1st place for the boys under/over relay, Elliot C, Iuean and Jonathan W's baton changeovers,...

The Friends have organised another Phil The Bag fundraising collection for Wednesday 24th February. This is after half term, so please get sorting and collecting your old/unwanted textiles over the break and bag them up. Please only bring your bags on the day, and drop them off at the top end of the carpark by the pedestrian entrance to the school.  Everyone is welcome to take part.  Please use any type of bag - but black sacks are best! Or why not fill up an old pillow case..?  The more we weigh, the more we get paid....

The Finance and Resources Committee met on 20th January to review and approve the figures for November and December. Once again, I am pleased to report that the school is in a healthy financial position through prudent spending and therefore has been able to increase staffing for Year 6 to provide additional intervention and booster sessions for our pupils in line with the priorities set out in the School Improvement Plan. At this meeting we were also able to approve the draft of the Schools Financial Value Standard. This document is a mandator...

St Michael’s Woolmer Green had huge success at the recent speed stacking competition held at Knightsfield school in Welwyn Garden city. Our team consisted of 4 girls and 4 boys, and all of the team tried so hard as they competed in the 3-3-3 and the 3-6-3, as well as girls, boys and whole team relays. They did St Michael's proud and qualified for the district final which was held on Friday 22nd January where the mixed team (all 8 team members) triumphed! They came first out of 8 schools in the district and will now go on to repr...

Don't forget we have our Roman feast this Wednesday 27th January.  We would love the children to bring in some food that would have been eaten in Roman times, or even a replica of something that they ate, for example roasted dormouse! It would also be great for the children to dress up as a rich or poor Roman. This can be as simple as an old sheet and a safety pin. We appreciate all your help in making this afternoon truly memorable. Mrs Gloyn....
