Mr B Mallon - Head Teacher

Parents who are considering a place for their child at St Michael's Woolmer Green are warmly invited to visit the school. Please telephone for an appointment and for a full copy of the prospectus.

In joining St Michael's Woolmer Green your child will be part of a community which shares Christian values where everyone works together to create a happy and secure environment. It is our aim to care for particular needs of each child to ensure that every opportunity is provided for all pupils to develop and reach their full potential.

In order to achieve this we look forward to working in partnership with you as your child progresses through the school and we encourage you to visit us to discuss your child's development.

Above all this is a caring school, with caring adults, who seek to develop positive relationships with our parents and children. Together we can ensure that your child will benefit from an exciting and enriching education at St Michael's Woolmer Green and will enjoy a happy and successful time here.

Last week Elm Class had a wonderful time when Mrs Hewitt came into school to teach them all about Passover, which is a celebration that commemorates Jewish liberation by God from slavery in Egypt. Mrs Hewitt brought in unleavened bread for the children to try as this is what is traditionally eaten during Passover.

It's all happening this term; a welcome return, a sad departure, a happy departure (and hopefully eventual return!), and two fabulous new recruits! We are so pleased to see Mr Mallon back from sick leave and our thanks go to Mrs Rawson who deputised in his absence. Mrs Rawson will sadly be leaving us at the end of this term to take up a new post at a school nearer her home. We are currently in the process of recruiting and will inform you of her replacement as soon as possible. We would like to express our thanks for all her hard...

Thank you to those Parents who have returned their Questionnaires. We value your comments and Mr Mallon will share the results in due course. This month our Committees will be approving year-end figures. We will be looking at our draft Budget for 2016-17 for approval at our FGB meeting in May. In addition we have been looking at children’s progress and attainment and how pupil premium and sports premium monies are spent. Our Governors continue to visit school to challenge and support school improvement. Our recent JARV ...

The St Michael's School choir finished off the school term with a triumphant performance that sent us all off to begin the holidays with a smile! With the glorious sunshine beating down, they sang "Dona dona", "This Train is Bound for Glory" and "Lily the Pink" to much applause from the audience. Well done to all involved. Happy holidays!

Earlier this week the whole school walked across to St Michael's Church for our annual Easter Service. Redwood led the service this year and did a fabulous job. Well done to all the children in Redwood class, and thank you to Mrs Gloyn, Mrs Wadey and Mrs Underwood for their wonderful organisation and hard work.

The children had great fun, as always, producing some incredibly imaginative decorated eggs. The results were speggtacular. They were on display in the hall all day for people to have a look at, and were judged by our expert panel. The winners this year were as follows: Reception: Lenny J & Tabitha H; Year 1: Lottie J & Finlay S; Year 2: Emily J & Benjamin D; Year 3: Ella B & Jonathan S; Year 4: Matthew L & Kitty A; Year 5: Thomas H & Caitlin W; Year 6: George H & Heather R.
