'Nurturing our children to excellence through Faith and learning'

School Values

We have 11 school values at St.Michael's, each of which is linked to a relevant verse from the Bible.  Each value is introduced during Collective Worship and, for a month, is the theme for these special times in the school day, as well as being high profile in PSHCE lessons, RE and story times. We also combine our school values with the principles of 'My Personal Best' (please see our curriculum page under "What we learn") in order to ensure that the personal development of the whole child is achieved.

Time is put aside in the school day for reflection and interactive discussion about each value. Collective worship is an occasion that all members of the school community look forward to and is inspiring on a daily basis. Values displays have sprung up everywhere around the school and it is clear to visitors that they have entered a school where values are at our core.

Behavioural issues are dealt with from a values base, ensuring a positive approach, and pupils are praised and recognised in our celebration assemblies for overtly living the values. They are awarded a leaf to add to our ever growing values tree.
